Taps: 9. Total: 3423.
Good turnout - 4 BB, 1 Brown (Chris the host), 3 Purple, 4 or 5 Blue, and 1 White. Three women.
BB Kenny, aka Mr. Omoplata, came and toyed with me as usual. Insane Lasso Guard and Omoplata. I was doing a nice KoB sequence I want to drill.
KoB-Hop, windshield to other side Kob-Reverse Kob, Backstep to Mount.
BB Paul from SS Santa Monica has a nice D'Arce set up: from Side - pull far arm across, chest pressure on it, reach in with other hand to get behind the head and still pulling on the arm.
He also had Pass Bait Roll Sweep - sleeve control, other hand reaches behind and bridges and his momentum as he tries to pass gets him over.
And a Side ESC tip - elbows in, bridge into the guy.
My Sit Up Guard was horrendous. Blues stepping over, down and getting into Armbar position of me. Need to keep distance, I think.

3414
Taps: 6. Total: 3414.
BB Mike - asked him about Side Control Top. He went over it again: controlling the hip, the far elbow, moving up high on near arm. Also, depending on how the guy moves and negating it.
BB Vince - asked about Side Control Top, if the guy's near arm is tight ... roll over it, chest pressure.
a. Also, get over head, under arm gi grip.
b. if he turns in -- KNEE UP, toe in on his belly area.
c. turns away, HAND grip on pants butt seem.
d. Back and forth, and last turn in, MOUNT.
Belly Down AB ESC - walk towards head, step over or HOP over. I keep rolling over into regular armbar.

b. 2nd Vid - says Nogi head on Underhook side / Gi - head on other side. Not sure why.
c. Press on thigh to open - go to Mount.
d. Clear leg to outside his arm, scoot up.
2. Triangle
a. lift his head up, get cleared leg (not underhook side) up and under his head.
b. lean forward to get other leg locked in.
1. Half Pass - everything the same except:
a. Gets to side, hip down, keeps weight down.
b. Bottom of foot presses down on his top of his knee to clear trapped leg.
c. Pass to SIDE CONTROL.
2. N/S Choke
a. clear arm, get leg on outside of that arm and sink in CHOKE.

a. Once locked in, don't need to roll. Stay on top, and put chest pressure to finish.
Pretty good success with the Half Pass. Need more practice getting all the way to the Sub.

3408
Taps: 5. Total: 3408.
BB Vince - Open Pass. Knee up middle. X Pass. If he closes legs, redirect knees to other side. Like a Leg Drag to the other side.
Same thing with Knee Shield Half Guard -- post out left leg, pick up the knee, press forward and redirect to the Right. Cross face with left hand, right hand weaves and clear leg
Scully has a vid very similar to this. Z pass / X pass.
II. Armdrag and Re-Armdrag.
III. Stand up to Side
a. same side sleeve grip, get underhook (belt grip) with other hand
b. lift sleeve, duck under and get to side of him.
IV. Turtle Sitout.
a. get off elbows, get up on hands.
b. peak head out one side.
c. that side lift leg and post, sit out to that side.
V. Counter Sitout
a. Cross face, lock hands and turn his head, body will follow.
Brown Sky's Roll Sweep.
*I thought I needed to hook or scissor with my legs, but he showed me again and don't really need the legs at all.
1. Cross grip sleeve and get it across centerline.
2. Other hand reaches over and gets belt grip.
3. Pull with belt grip as I roll over to that side.
4. Kick out and clear leg during the sweep or i'll end up top Half Guard.
Almost completed MG's entire sequence from Half Pass to Sub. Almost.
1. Half Smash Pass.
2. Mount.
3. Triangle -- but, but but, I didn't lock it in properly, locked in shallow over my ankle and hurt it a little when I rolled and he powered out. Also, I needed to lean forward to get other leg locked with the leg that's under his head already.
Drill:
1. Buchecha gi pass
2. Flower Sweep -- x 1000.

3403
Taps: 5. Total: 3403.
Five Black Belts in the house.
BB Chris - Tech 1 - Lasso Sweep. Get deep into lasso, other leg comes across his stomach. Non-lasso hand grabs pants grip at knee, crook area.
Tech 2 - Even if he passes, can still use the Lasso to sweep if deep enough on the bicep.
Tech 3 - he backs away, go under and spin to Omoplata.
Bonus: BB Mike showing a Closed Guard Lapel Sweep: get gi over the back, push leg through the gi grip, hip out and get over leg under for a hook sweep as I pull on the gi.
I didn't have chance to ask BB Mike to go over the Side Control Top stuff that he showed me last time. Next time.
MG Half Smash - got lazy, not good underhook. Got rolled.

3398
Taps: 12. Total: 3398.
BB Chris - I. Armdrag to Single Leg.
1. Same side sleeve grip push in, across my body, across centerline.
2. Right foot steps in as I armdrag with right hand behind his elbow.
3. Get to the side, almost behind him, get head inside.
4. Reach down and grab Single Leg.
II. Side Control of Triangle.
1. Kill near arm, get cross face.
2. Far arm reaches for Underhook, grab that wrist with my right hand.
3. ** key: left leg folds, windshield against his body / lift his head with my left hand as Right leg goes over to the other side and under his head.
4. Lock triangle and roll to right and end up in bottom Triangle Finish.
BB Mike - great tips on Side Control Maintenance.
** Control Hip and Head.
1. Right Underhook far side arm and kickstand my legs as my hip is against his hip.
2. Depends on which way he moves, kill his escape routes.
3. He pushes w/ near head, kill it or pull is across and chest pressure on it.
4. He comes back into me -- Mount.
Also, Half Nelson Side Control Drill. (he shrimps and turns into me ... I underhook lower hand and behind his head, step over his head and get Side Control on other side).
But I definitely need another session with BB Mike on this.

3386
Taps: 8. Total: 3386.
Don't need more techniques. I need more concepts, drills and setups and details to the techniques I already know.
BB Kenny from Simi in the house. He showed two Turtle Attacks.
I. Roll into Bow and Arrow Choke.
II. Basic Collar grips 1 - plant forehead 2 O'clock and squeeze knees.
Key detail for both: Get inside Leg OVER HIS SHOULDER.
Drilled with Blue Morgan:
1. Buchecha gi pass.
2. Side ESC - framing against his hip and shrimping and getting near knee in.
Then he showed me his Kesa ESC - one hand push on the collar as he comes up on the elbow on other hand, and scissor his legs. I know a similar one but I use two hands on collar and just shrimp back.
Armbar Breaks: 1 - Gable grip; 2 - Covel weave leg through.
Brown Sky's ARMDRAG SWEEP- 1. two on one, get the arm across centerline, get almost Side Guard; 2. same side hand reaches back and grabs belt; 3. extend the cross grip arm as I pull the belt and use foot hook for the Sweep.
BB Kenny's new DLR PASS - he was showing BB Mike.
1. pants grip on both legs. Push down on non-DLR leg and step over.
2. Push DLR leg to the mat and step on the leg with other leg as I free my right DLR leg from his hook and hand grip.
3. Finish: either Leg Drag or Knee Cut.
Keep working: Buch Pass and MG Half Pass (try to finish with Triangle), if I get Underhook. If not, back up and get up to Denilson's Ballcrusher (re-watch).

3373
Taps: 3. Total: 3373.
Saturday morning training. Was an hour late. Missed the tech portion of class. Went straight into Pass/Guard drills and free training.
Rewatch: MG Half Smash Pass -- which side to get Underhook and how to use leg to pry open and get to Mount. I did it and ended in Side. Also, the Triangle from Mount at the end of vid.
Half - I keep abandoning Giggler/J. Wayne sweep and keep going to Leite's Half Sequence. I love that and getting it more often than not.
Keep working: Closed Guard: scissor, triangle setups and Side Guard and Flower sweeps.
Gradually: some Open Guard - Knee Up, Tarsis and Infinity.
Bow and Arrow: set ups.
It's all about the set ups and timing.
