Taps: 6. Total: 647.

Tech. 3 Kimura Attacks from Side.

1. Kimura to Back (Brown Vince showed this).
   a. From Side, pass near hand over to other side of his head, and as he gets underhook and turns on his side, get Kimura grip.
  b. Get my left leg over his head, then gi wrap over the hand and pass to my left hand.
  c. My right knee behind his head, and my left leg goes over his body to get in the first hook.
  d. My right hand gets under his head for cross face and roll him to other side to get my other hook in.
  e. Got his back and work attack from there.

2. Kimura - Black Chris showed the next two.
  a. From Side -- get slightly North-South, get my left hand under his elbow as my right hand controls his wrist to get the Kimura grip.
  b. After I get Kimura grip, get him on his side, straighten my right leg and get it over his other hand/bicep to keep it trapped, and then step over his head with my left leg.
  c. For finish, pull up and counter clockwise to put his wrist toward his shoulder.

3. Kimura to Armbar.
  a. if he holds onto his gi and is too strong, then swing over into armbar.
  b. hold my own collar to grip his wrist and other hand, down by the crook of his hand.
  c. swivel over to get my leg out from under him and over his body for the finish.

Funny, I been watching the whole Kimura in a can series from Marshal Carper, which i like.

* Success with the Reverse Scissor Sweep. Pulled it off twice and almost a third.

** Brown Vince showed to grab the gi in Sit up guard for a sweep and managed to pull that off, too. That reminds me of a Tanquinho Sweep, in Open Guard.

Got to put that on my list of moves to drill.

Drill Focus:
1. S Mount ESC (Howell movement)
2. Back ESC (Wolverine and Basic Scoot)
3. Kimura Top Side.
4. Tanquinho Sweep.

Taps: 7. Total: 641.

At BeeHouse with lil Bro and my older bro was there, too. Very strange rolling with him. He's a one-stripe Blue, also, because he's been training on and off as long as my lil bro Brown.

Lil Bro went over 3 Basic Mount ESC, focusing the last, saying we have to string them all together, because most people will defend one.

Mount ESC 1 -- Upa.

Mount ESC 2 - Bridge and Elbow ESC.

Mount ESC 3 - Step over.
1. Bridge, get on side. Step over his ankle with my right foot.
2. Trap his ankle, hip out into him, get to Half.

Dealing with DLR, passing. Asked him I was having trouble with peeps grabbing my lead ankle, and stretching me off balance by pushing with their foot on my opposite hip. His advice:
1. Deal with the foot on hip first, press forward, and as he pushes back, grab his foot from under, at the ankle, lift up and step in to clear it.
2. My lead right foot pressures in. My left hand either goes for the Over/Under pass to left side, or Knee cut to right by getting under his head with my right hand and big back step.

Reverse Scissor Sweep. (I saw Sean Roberts vid on this ages ago, but really liked the way lil bro presented it and explained it as an offshoot of regular scissor sweep.) And even if he sprawls to defend, as long as I get his weight on my knee and open my knee up, the Sweep is done.

Here's the Sean Roberts vid.

Another North-South Choke vid, off the diving board. Different details.

Taps: 634

Taps: 7. Total: 634.

Tech 1 - Spider Pass/ Step Over.
1. Step over his grips, his head.
2. Slide down his body into Side Control.

Tech. 2. - DLR pseudo Omo to Back.
1. Left hand on his ankle, left leg wrapped around same side leg; right hand cross collar grip.
2. Right leg comes over my grip hand and over his other leg, pressures behind his lower thigh, breaks him down almost like an omoplata.
3. Switch out of ankle grip, then grab his belt, scout out and he falls, and I've got his back.

Been practicing my Back ESC, and was making progress defending chokes, but forgot that they can stretch me out and cracked my back and bruised a rib. Rib still sore. Was thinking about taking a break tomorrow, but I'm really going to train to be mentally tough, and train with an injury. What if I get in a fight? I have to perform with pain. I need to train with pain.

Focus: One top; one bottom.

1. Back ESC.
2. Rey Sweep.

Deep Half Counter/Choke -- Wiener.

Purple John taught class.

Tech 1 - Open Guard Tripod Sweep.
1. My left hand grabs same side ankle, left leg on same side hip.
2. My right hand has same side sleeve grip, right leg hooks same side leg behind knee.
3. My left hand and right hook keeps him in place as I push with my left leg on his hip for the sweep.

Tech 2 - Tripod B Sweep.
1. If he steeps back and clears my right hook, then transfer my right foot right over my left foot on his hip.
2. Left foot gets behind his left foot to stop him, and push on hip again for the sweep.

Tech 3 - Sitting Guard Collar Drag.

Tech 4 - Sitting Guard Arm drag.
1. Nice detail: push his arm into him to create a little hook to grab behind his elbow.

Focus.
1. Back ESC (contd.), mild progress.
2. Kesa ESC.
3. Side ESC.
4. Passing.
5. Closed Guard (Akins).

Kesa ESC - Kurt O.
Kesa ESC - M. Massey
From Vancouver (more detail on the leg chasing movement).

There's another where you bridge then get my near knee under his body, then roll him over. And here's Gurgel getting the knee in and hipping out rather that rolling. (start at 2:00 in).
