And i got a great detail on Triangle from Brn Alan via Keenan ... when i'm pushing on his biceps with my left foot and he pushes back, I SLIDE my foot up toward his shoulder, let it SLIDE off and he Falls into the Triangle.

There's a few lower belts who play above their colors. Have to be on my toes with them. Others just avoid them. I just can't do that. I don't have it in it.

Speaking of which Purp Mossad (not his real name) ... got me because i was being lazy inside his Closed Guard. Working the overhook game then when i stood up he went from one armbar to the other, which i was totally not expecting. lucky i tapped fast.

Danaher Juji from Guard



three crucial positions in relation to each other

1. His head
2. His elbow
3. my hip

Steps
1. left hand cups his elbow, to get it inside my HIP, or across center line
2. Right hand gets collar tie / behind his head, for Head Control (ideally close and right over his elbow)
3. "Top lock" aka High Guard or Diamond
4. Left hand weaves in, overhooks the attacking arm, Right hand underhooks his thigh
5. Pivot, get leg over his head.



        3 Main Problems from Bottom
1. Posture Problem
2. Stack Problem
3. Pulling Away Problem

A. Posture Problem
 1. If he's on Knees -- I want his spine in 45 degrees, leaning in (not straight UP or completely leaning in against my chest)
 2. Collar Tie and elbow to keep him at that IdEAL range, and get his elbow across center line
 2a. Also lock guard higher up on his Back.
 3. then turn into High Guard and final pivot into Juji

Ai. If the STANDS / Vertical Posture
 1. Can't Juji from there
 2.  need to get him back down / Pivot Sweep into Knee  7:05

B. Stack Problem
 a. get my feet pointing away from his BASE / hips away, hand in front of his Base foot, INVERT and turn him over onto his Back, into SpiderWeb.

Bi. Extreme STACK -- come out the Back Door, other side of him and turn him over

C. Pull Away Problem
 a. Pivot, far leg tight against his face/ear/chin, then scrape against his face as i get it over to OTHER side.
 b. and near foot his pressing down on his neck from other side

 I. Flower Sweep
  a. Reach under n across to elbow control like a basic Armbar but get elbow across n into Side Guard
  b. Reach over, grab under armpit while getting my legs over shoulder into High Guard control
  c. Reach under grab outside knee gi
  d. Open legs n rock or reverse shrimp for Flower Sweep

II. Choke
 a. Can’t reach the pants grip, over hand comes in gets gi Choke grip
 b. Other hand grabs my top ankle like triangle adjustment, pull both hand s for finish

III. Push into Sweep
 a. Can’t get pants grip or choke grip, armpit grip comes in front of face n reaches for elbow
 b. Other hand sweeps back to come up on my elbow to push into him to Sweep
 c. Hold elbow to get leg under his elbow for S Mount, other knee comes top of his forehead
 d. Into Armbar

19.24 Tues Am 5134

BB Chris ... I. DLR Sweep w/ sleeve under the leg
 * funny enough i just saw this and its from the Knees var. from O'Connor yesterday.

II. DLR if he breaks grip on right side
 a. switch to cross sleeve and same side pants grip
 b. non-Dlr foot goes under his armpit and pushes
 c. Dlr leg straightens on the back of his calf to turn him and he puts knee on the mat
 d. Leg goes from armpit to hook behind calf
 e. switch from pants grip to belt grip
 f. shrimp away and pull him to the BACK.

Drill update - Nicky Triangle 3 / 3 total / 997 to go. 

Bonus: BB Vince's Open Closed Guard
 a. lift knee to bait him to underhook it, then bring it down and trap his arm
 b. lift up other side leg, push down on that side leg to open guard
 c. knee slide up and staple, other knee wipers and i get crossface for pass.

** totally disgusted with myself for rookie move ... insisting and holding on to choke from top of closed guard as he was choking me. terrible defense. i had to tap to purp shane. i could of defended, could have sat back or stood up to pass. but nooooo. must do better next time.

also work on S Mount armbar.

Haven't rolled with Brn Nick in a few weeks, and this is what happens. he tapped me about 7 or 8 times during one roll. i think he was going easy on me. no joke.

no easy rolls ... three BBs, 2 brns, one-hand blue and me. One-hand guy always bulldozes his way to crossface my Half Guard. makes me life tough if i don't win that battle.

so BB Tarca using the Floating Pass, not sure if it's from Gordon or Vacha but it's a Floating 3/4 Mount, and Pressure and soon as i move he drops into Mount. the pressure really prevents from dropping into Half.

That inspired me to practice my Floating Pass, via Glover. love it. Float, pinch into Half Guard, swing hips one way, hip switch the other. Got it a couple of times.

damn Askren. bc of him, more people are trying that damn Bulldog Choke on me. more of a crank bc they don't quite do it properly yet.

 a. Underhook that leg, go for Armbar

III. if Can't get Armbar
 a. if the underhook leg, Sweep him over into Spiderweb ... for armbar or come up in Side Control

alright adding one more, that's it no more to Side Control pathway ... total of four.

  1. get under far armpit, reverse Kesa, hook outside thigh to Mount
  2. Leg Weave to Dope Mount
  3. Leg Weave to upside Truck to Back
  4. Armpit, reverse kesa, hook top leg to my bottom, Truck roll to Back

  2. One arm Kimura sweep from Half (but i could be more efficient in digging for the grip, for the open elbow ... try for SWEEP and when he posts?)

  1. butt off mat, and close to his belly. 
  2. don't let him get hands on me
  3. bring him in with my legs when he has no hands on me ... to break posture

Concepts - Rotation & Extension by T. Peterson


1. EXTENSION is a straight line of Force. ROTATION is a circular line of Force.
2. Counter Extension with Rotation.
3. Counter Rotation with Extension, then Rotation.

Side ESC 1:20
 a. if Crossfaced - that TWISTS my spine
 b. Extension with Hands, move feet away to Realign Spine to make Bridge effective
 c. Bridge away, then turn into him, use near Knee in, if he stays on his Knees.
 d. 2:10 If he goes KoB, then other leg comes in to recover

Defending Knee Cut 8:50
 a. Frame/Extend on far shoulder, while still getting elbow down and blocking the Underhook, getting under his armpit

Closed Guard Attack 14:10
 a. coming up to cross collar, TWISTING out the SLACK
 b. leg over shoulder (High Guard)


2:30 Twisting to get SLACK out for Control

9:25 Fixed Point Concept - to use torque / replace with another fixed point as he defends

11:40 w/ Side ESC example -- extend him down to my belly, over my hip BEFORE i bridge. Extend, create separation/space by creating SLACK. Extend the Hip with Bridge, Rotate w/ Shoulder to create space to move back to get leg in to Extend legs to recover guard.

12:30 if he pops up to KoB -- put his knee over my hips

* Rotate to ATTACK
* Extend to DEFEND
