Day 6: Closed Guard Focus
Taps: 5. Total: 387.
Tech. 1 - Armbar break from Side.
1. Weave in, grapevine in and control elbow of far arm.
2. Sit on his stomach, pivot, go for far side armbar.
Just not getting any practice in Closed Guard. Focus. dammit.
Weave Pass.
Deep Half Counter.
Closed Guard. Break Posture.
The big holes in my game are becoming slightly, ever so slightly getting smaller. But they are still big holes. I will close the holes. Armbar Escapes. Triangle Escapes. Which just leads to the other big holes in my game: Side Escapes, Half Guard Bottom, especially Half Guard...might have to put this on the next Focus Position, Back to Basics.

Day 2: Guard Focus
Taps: 6. Total: 369.
Sun. Class.
Some Takedown practice again. Very tiring. Just flailing. I have no idea what I'm doing. Must review Saulo's takedowns on Revolution 2.
Guard Focus:
Purple Jordan gave me a great great tip for Breaking Posture.
1. Grab from outside in, both elbows and flare them out.
2. Sit up and sit back down.
3. Do crunch with both legs.
** the key is to do ALL Three at the same same. I knew about this but never thought about doing it all at once. Or I usually pull down with cross collar grip as I crunch with my legs, if I remember.
Also, need to learn how to Pull Guard. People are not just going to let me get into Guard. They're going to go Combat or control my legs or knees before I can close.

Day 1: Focus Closed Guard
Taps: 8: Total: 363.
Pulled Guard as much as possible. Only a couple of times when I got pulled into their Guard. Didn't do too well. Need to focus: Breaking Posture, Sitting up or Moving Side to Side.
A few guys are prepping for an upcoming tournament and we did some takedown drills. Fun, since I never get to do them. Need to review Saulo's Takedown DVD. I got the first grip but couldn't remember anything after that.
Need to review:
** if I get Cross Faced, then see where his hand position is.
