Taps: 2325

Taps: 3. Total: 2325.

Black Chris. DLR Series.

1. I can get cross sleeve grip (my right on his right sleeve).
  a. Sit up and pass that grip from my right to my left, under his right leg.
  b. My right grabs near collar grip, palm down, thumb in.
  c. Pull down for the sweep.

2. Same side sleeve grip.
  a. Pull to the right, my right leg comes off his thigh, and gets under his armpit of that grip side, and push with that leg.
  b. Left hand grabs right ankle.
  c. They should be low or even to the mat. My right leg bends and gets behind his right knee; left hand grabs his belt at the back and pulls as I lift up with my right hook.
  d. Take the Back.

3. Don't have either sleeve grip.
  a. Sit up and grab lapel or belt and around, under his leg to my left hand.
  b. Dive under as my right hand cups around his left thigh and come up for the sweep.

After class, asked Purple John about X Guard - showed me the push/pulling with the legs and getting my hand high, above the knee, on the thigh.
Sweep 1: Scissoring my legs. Sweep back.
Sweep 2: Right hand grabs the X'd leg. Sweep forward.
  Sweep 3: Tech stand up.

We talked about the Butterfly Guard entry to X Guard, and he ended up giving me a much-needed refresher on the Butterfly Guard.

1. Underhook - higher the better, better control.
2. Hop - bottom leg, keeping hopping, inching closer and closer to him. Keep hopping til he falls. Don't stop at one or two.
3. Learn to sweep both directions.
4. Double Under - "answer the phone" trap one hand low near the wrist, scissor/hook to finish.

If he stands or bases out, then enter X Guard.

Need to start drilling Butterfly Sweeps - both sides.
