3501 and Spider Guard setup

Taps: 8. Total: 3501.

Brown Steve, who gives me fits with his Spider Guard, taught the class today. And Surprise! Surprise! He was giving away his Spider Guard secrets.

I. Getting there from Closed Guard.
  a. Double sleeve grip, get on side, get knee inside his arm, and flare out knee. Same thing with other leg. So you get to what I call Open Lotus (double sleeve grip, both knees inside his hands, knees flared out).
  b. Left leg on his bicep, straighten my leg. Right leg on his hip, pull on his sleeve and stretch him with my right hand. Get on my right elbow. This is what I call Central Station.

II. From Central Station.
 A. Steering Sweep - Right bicep leg/left hand steers to right (clock-wise); right leg chops down on his knee.
 B. Triangle - tries to break or straighten out of the bicep side, then steer to other side and get my leg with his bicep/grip still attached onto the mat. Right leg posts on the mat to help with it.
    i. he pushes back to center, left leg shoots behind his head, right leg locks in the Triangle.
 C. Omoplata - off failed Steering sweep... go back the other way ... lock in Omoplata but top leg goes over his back, scoot back, get that top leg UNDER HIS CHIN, stretch my legs for the finish.

Try to work this into my game slowly. Meanwhile, still working on the counters ... especially Mendes Spider Guard Pass. Full notes workup to follow.
