Taps: 4. Total: 4131.
BOOM! Four days straight in the books. Friday Night OM, Sat AM, Sun OM, Mon OM. Bam-Bam-Bam-Bam. That ties the record. Don't think i've ever trained more than four days straight.
Brown Steve owns the place and i was the highest belt there after him. No other Browns. Lots and lots Whites, three Blues, two Purples.
I had to really really remember to roll light and not bully the Whites and Blues, only if they are really big and heavy and strong. Otherwise, roll like they're my kids.
Plus, the Whites were in awe and giving me TOO MUCH RESPECT. I think it's because they've had not seen much Browns and above, other than their own instructor. like they said, in the kingdom of the Blind, the one-eyed man is King. Or on a mat full of White Belts, the Brown belt seems like a god.
At one point i was keeping up with Brown Steve and thought, o shit, what are you doing? Take it down a notch. It's his house. Kind of flashes back to the time i beat that guy at ping pong at his house. I really should have let him win, but I didn't.
I was really lazy with Half Guard, and I forgot to use my Knee Shield. But i could get away with it because they were mostly lower belts and i got the Underhook and they forgot to control my bottom arm and i swept them pretty easily.
Lanky, flexible Purple kept escaping Mount by inverting and hooking his legs on my armpits. Must ask Vince or Chris a counter to that.
Got to work on a few stuff ... Kob Backstep to Mount, Barata Control, Passing ... time lag getting shorter between Position and Goto technique.
Half Guard Passing: Lockdown, Knee Shield, Regular.
Top Side Control: Sub or Mount.
Mount: Armbar, Choke or Triangle.
Closed Guard: High Guard, Arm Drag to Side Guard/Back Take.
But, but roll lightly next time. No subs. Catch and release.
