Taps: 8. Total: 3831.
BB Chris ... Closed Guard to High Guard Armbar. A different setup to the High Guard.
1. My right hand reaches under and across to grab behind elbow of his right arm; my left hand already has that same side sleeve grip.
2. Now here's the variation: my left hand switches from the sleeve to grip, reaches across to behind the other elbow and pulls across.
3. That will break his posture enough to get my left leg over his shoulder to lock in High Guard.
4. Squeeze knees together tight and get left leg over his face on other side for Armbar.
Tech II -- Half Guard Half Butterfly Sweep.
1. I've got Underhook and preventing crossface by C cupping that bicep.
2. Shrimp back to get space to get Hook in with my left trapped leg.
3. Now let him crossface me and trap that hand with "answer the phone" and Hook Sweep towards the crossface side.
I like Denny P's High Guard setup and have been trying to go for it more ... hip up and get elbow across as I lock in HG. Actually got Blue Paul ... he postured back thinking I was going for Armbar. Instead I pushed him away and swept into Mount twice. Almost into a Mounted Triangle, too.
Born Gerald also said I have an Omoplata, too when I go for the Sweep.
Saw Brn Z ... back from Hungary. Big scary guy, like Brn Steve, who never smiled at me for the first 2, 3 years. Somehow must have earned their respect. Both very friendly.
OMG. How many times am I going to fall into Purple Leif loop choke as I'm passing. I need to stop and deal with his grip instead of just pressing forward. One of these days, I will get it right.
Trying to find Efficient, sneaky ways: i.e. Getting half guard Underhook...1. Hard bridge; 2. Clamp knees sweep attempt. 2nd example ... the Romulo sweep... instead of pulling withe my arm, just shrimp, shrimp, shrimp to get the Sweep. HG bridge to elbow across setup. Need to collect more examples.
That's where all the powerful invisible BJJ lives. And I must be progressing because I'm getting to Mount and Back fairly often. Can't quite finish but still getting there.
And it's Official. I have run out of RAM in my brain for NEW TECHNIQUES. From this point on, I'm only looking a videos of techniques I already know, trying to suss out better setups, entries, secret sauce details that make the technique work or more efficient.
