Falling Scissor Sweep.
If I ever make an instructional DVD, this will be Money Move #1. Based on the traditional ,classic Scissor Sweep from Closed Guard, this is a move that I've thought up all by my little self. The problem with the Scissor Sweep from Closed Guard is that everyone knows it, hence hard to pull off on the higher belts.
But I was watching Braulio Estima string together two things -- a push and pull -- type of move and a light bulb went off. So here it is: We slap hands and start from the knees.
1. Grips: my right hand gets a cross collar grip; left hand gets a sleeve grip on his right wrist.
2. A. Push on his collar, if he falls over, then I'm on top and start working my Pass.
2. B. If he resists or pushes back, then I fall back as if I'm pulling Guard.
3. As he's falling forward and I'm falling back, I Scissor Sweep him.
And that is ... my Money Move #1.
I guess what's more important than coming up with my own move is thinking about set ups, and thinking a move ahead and double attacks and having the initiative
