Rolles Standing Pass - no luck. Could not get angle.
Focus: Back Esc and Guard Pass (back to Saulo).
Side ESC - mild success. Rolling with Purple John.
I prevented the crossface and had his arm over on the other side, but couldn't sweep him. (that's because I didn't hook his leg.).
Then I went for Dennis Ache's sneaky Kimura sweep, and that worked perfectly.
I didn't have too much success with it before because I always went for it first and people knew something was up when I went for the grip, but when I went for the other technique (armpit/elbow and sit up), I was able to get the grip and bridge and reverse. nice. and totally accidental and not planned at all. Just reacting.
